Sandra Leigh Thompson was born on June 19, 1965, in Norman, Oklahoma, to James and Eureta (DeArman) Smith and passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 59 years.
Sandra married David Thompson on May 15,1985, and they were married for 39 years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family meant the world to her.
Sandra was a lady of many talents. She was a dog groomer and a licensed realtor. Sandra enjoyed riding horses, leather work, scrap booking and camping. She enjoyed road trips and Disney trips with her family, and cooking and baking.
Sandra had been active in many organizations over the years. She was a member of OFCA, OSFAWA, Town Council, Christian Crusaders, School Board President for CCA, and President of the local women’s auxiliary for 23 years. Sandra was also active in the church where she led youth groups and taught Sunday School. Sandra will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, David Thompson of Slaughterville, Oklahoma; sons, Bradley Thompson of Moore, Oklahoma, and Terrell Thompson and Haley of Slaughterville, Oklahoma; daughter, Courtney Thompson of Lexington, Oklahoma; brothers, Kevin Smith of Lexington, Oklahoma, and Jimmy Smith and Nikkie of Union City, Oklahoma; sisters, Sharon Mitchell and Lonnie of Union City, Oklahoma, Kim Liberton and Mark of Mustang, Oklahoma, and Jackie Smith and Terrell of Yukon, Oklahoma; aunt, Virginia Loys Sadberry of Denton, Texas; cousins, Laura Holliman and Rick of Denton, Texas, and Greg Sadberry and Brenda of Ponder, Texas; grandson, Rowan Thompson of Moore, Oklahoma; and numerous more nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bert and Naomi DeArman; mother, Eureta Smith; father, James Smith; uncles, Earl Howard DeArman and Darrel Sadberry; brother-in-law, Edward Turner; and niece, Morgan Smith.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, August 16, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Purcell, Oklahoma. Burial at Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma.
