Lex shuts out ECP

Lexington put its best foot forward in their season opener against Elmore City-Pernell.

The Bulldogs played four quarters of in your face football and shut out the Badgers, 34-0.

The stingy Bulldog defense picked off a pair of Badger passes and held them under 100 yards on the night.

“We played well as a team for four quarters and never stopped,” assistant coach Kyle Wells said.

Wells was subbing for head coach Keith Bolles who was sidelined due to a death in his family.

Cameron Weatherford, Cadyn Krueger and Dalton Brewer all rushed for touchdowns and the ‘Dawgs had two scores through the air.

As a team, Lexington rushed for 156 yards and tacked on another 119 yards passing.

“We played well,” Wells continued. “It’s hard when you don’t have that extra week of scrimmaging playing in Week 0.”

The Bulldogs have Friday off and will resume their regular season September 13 at Wayne.
