The 2024 edition of Lexington Bulldog football will be in full bloom Friday with a Week 0 encounter at Elmore City.

Kickoff for coach Keith Bolles and his promising squad is set for 7 p.m.

The Badgers will operate offensively out of a two back with a tight end formation.

When Lexington has the ball they can expect a 3-5-1 look out of ECP defensively.

“They’ve got some good linemen and a very speedy back,” Bolles says of the Badgers.

“Their defense flies to the ball,” Bolles said. “Offensively, just like most everyone, is still working on timing.”

Bolles said the key for a Bulldog victory is “doing what we do.”

“We have to play within ourselves and take care of the football on offense and not give up the big play defensively,” he confirmed.

Lexington coaches were pleased with the overall physical condition of the team after last week’s scrimmage.

“We ran 64 plays on the east end of the field and 64 plays on the west end of the field and didn’t have a single player miss a play due to cramps,” Bolles said.

“Our O-line is starting to jell,” the coach continued. “We had one lineman injure an ankle so we had to move some linemen around. We’re working toward that goal. I’m very proud of them,” Bolles said.

ECP was 5-6 last season bowing out of the playoffs in the first round.

The Badgers are coached by Larry Lewis.

“Coach Lewis does a great job,” Bolles concluded.
