Two Washington Residents were injured in a two vehicle accident last Sunday that resulted in the death of a Lindsay youth.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the accident occurred at 2:09 p.m. on State Highway 76 one mile south of Lindsay.

The OHP said the 17-year-old male was driving a 2008 Cadillac Escalade when he attempted to make a left hand turn on to a county road.

The OHP said when the SUV entered into the southbound lane it was struck head-on by a 1995 Peterbuilt semi tractor driven by Travis D. Christensen, 52, of Washington.

Christensen was transported to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City by Elmore City EMS where he was admitted in stable condition with a head injury.

A passenger in the truck, Keisha D. Netz, 37, of Washington was treated and released at OU Medical Center. She was also transported by Elmore City EMS.

The driver of the Cadillac was pinned in the wreckage for 40 minutes, freed by the Lindsay Fire Department using the Hurst Tool.

He was transported by Air Evac to OU Medical Center where he died.

Trooper Tim Brinson was the lead investigator assisted by Trooper Chris Earnhart, Lindsay Fire Department, Elmore City Fire Department and Lindsay EMS.
