A partnership between McClain County Health Department and OSU Extension is planning the county area’s first McClain County Community Baby Shower.

The event, which will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, August 10, is in honor of pregnant mothers, and families with infants and toddlers.

It will be held at the OSU Extension Office, 1721 Hardcastle Blvd., in Purcell.

Ashlyn DeMilk, communications coordinator for the county health department, said, “We will honor pregnant mothers and families with infants and toddlers by offering resource tables for programs that might be useful for those with little ones at home. We will be doing giveaways, have car seat installations, and give away door prizes to those who attend.”

DeMilk said the Baby Shower will be a fair booth-style event with multiple vendors relating to pregnancy and who have parental resources for young children.

“The McClain County Health Department will have several door prizes, as well as other donated items from vendors that they’ll be raffling off,” DeMilk said.

Youth with the local 4-H Club will be there to assist with a Kid’s Zone.
