The July 4th celebration in Purcell will come a few days early.
The 2024 Independence Day celebration will be this Friday, June 28, with a bushel basket full of games, activities and fireworks.
Starting at 5 p.m. at the Purcell City Lake there will be food trucks, a bounce house, axe throwing, a dunk tank and a car show.
All proceeds from the car show will go to McClain County Operation Christmas, according to Operation Christmas head, Peggy Christian.
Registration for the car show begins at 6 p.m. at the Weaver Pavilion.
A free-throw shooting contest will be held at 7 p.m. at the courts at the Multi-Purpose Center.
Fireworks will light up the sky starting at 9:45 p.m. over Purcell Lake, followed by a three-on-three basketball tournament at the courts.
