On the morning of July 16 a shots fired incident occurred near the 700 block of West Marland and Hardcastle Blvd. in Sandtown in Purcell.

After following numerous leads and initially reaching a dead end, police said their investigators received crucial information this morning that led them to a residence just northwest of town off SH 74.

A search warrant was issued after locating the getaway vehicle at the residence.

During the search, the firearm used in the crime was found resulting in the arrest of Lincoln Marzel.

He was charged with discharging a firearm into a dwelling and unlawful wearing of a mask.

Police said, “We appreciate the community's cooperation and will continue to provide updates as the investigation progresses.”

Surveillance cameras at several area businesses and the McClain County OSU Extension Service gave investigators the description of the get away vehicle, a black Silverado pickup, and documented the vehicle running numerous stop signs in the area traveling at a high rate of speed north on Hardcastle Blvd.

One eye-witness said he heard the shots and went outside to see a man wearing a camo jacket, black pants, black shoes and a ski-mask walking south.

The suspect, later identified as Marzel, got into the black pickup and sped off.

Investigating officers found 10 shell casings in the middle of the roadway.

The investigation is continuing.
